In short
Need a handyman in Wembley?
EliteShires Property Services books handyman visits across Wembley by the half day or full day, so one trip covers your whole list. Send it with photos and we will say how long it needs. Anything needing an electrician, a plumber or a Gas Safe registered engineer is flagged first, and we can usually keep it in the same visit.
We work Monday to Saturday, until 4.30pm on Saturdays, and plan around Wembley event days if your street is in the zone.
The full guide is on our Handyman & Odd Jobs page, and everything else we do locally is under landlord certificates and repairs in Wembley.
Handyman Services in Wembley: what is different here
Snagging and move-ins in the new Wembley blocks
At the 2021 Census, 61.9% of households in Wembley Park ward rented privately, and new flats keep arriving, so move-in and move-out lists are a large part of our work here. Typical items are doors that need adjusting after the building has settled, silicone that has split around a bath, kitchen unit doors out of line, blinds and curtain tracks for floor-to-ceiling windows, and furniture to assemble in a small lift. Many blocks only allow deliveries and contractors at set times, so we book the lift and loading bay through the concierge and bring dust sheets for the corridor.
Front doors and fire doors in tower blocks
A flat's front door in a building over 11 metres is a fire door, and the building's responsible person is required to try to check it, with its self-closer, every year, and to keep a record if access is refused. Residents are also told not to tamper with fire doors or their closers. So if you want a new lock, a spyhole or a door chain on your Wembley Park front door, it has to be fitted with fire-rated parts, without weakening the door, and many buildings want to approve the work first.
We will tell you what is possible and check with the managing agent where needed. Internal doors inside the flat are a simpler job.
Repairs that Brent's licence conditions expect
Most Wembley lets outside Wembley Park ward hold a Brent selective licence, whether the house is in Wembley Central, Wembley Hill or North Wembley, and its conditions ask for more than a tidy house. Where previous occupants have not returned keys, the relevant locks must be changed before new tenants move in. Licence holders must also inspect the outside of the property at least once every six months, looking at walls, drainage, windows, doors, gardens, fencing and paths, and give the council the report within 14 days if asked.
We can combine that inspection with the small repairs it turns up, photograph both, and leave you a dated record for the licence file.
Lists in Wembley's interwar houses
The 1920s and 1930s semis in Tokyngton, Preston Road and Barn Hill produce their own kind of list. Doors that bind after decades of repainting, loose stair spindles, picture rails and coving with cracks along the joints, and gates and fence panels loosened by the wind. In the Barn Hill conservation area, leaded casement windows are part of what the council wants to keep, so we repair rather than replace sashes, stays and catches where we can.
On solid walls we choose fixings to suit, and we scan for cables and pipes before drilling for shelves or a TV.
Making one visit go further
Travel and parking are the same for one item as for ten, and in Wembley parking can take more organising than the job itself, especially near the stadium. A half day suits a list of five or six small tasks; a full day suits a void or a move-in.
Send photos and measurements for anything you want us to supply, such as blinds, handles or a toilet seat. If your street is in the event day zone, keep a visitor event permit for us if you have one, or let us book a non-event day.

Handyman Services in Wembley: your questions
Not answered here? Call 0203 667 1333 and ask.
Can you assemble furniture in a high-rise Wembley flat?
Yes. Tell us the building and floor so we can book the service lift through the concierge if the block requires it. We take away packaging only if the building allows it to go in the bin store; otherwise we flatten and bag it for you.
Can you change the lock on my Wembley Park flat door?
Usually, using a lock that matches the door's fire rating and keeps it self-closing. Some buildings use a master-key system or require approval from the managing agent first. Send us a photo of the door edge and the existing lock, and the building name, and we will confirm what we can fit.
Do you do the six-monthly exterior checks Brent asks for?
We can. Brent's selective licence conditions ask licence holders to inspect the outside of the property at least every six months. We walk the exterior, note defects with photos, fix the small ones and report anything that needs a roofer or another specialist, which we do not cover ourselves.
Can you mount a TV on a concrete wall in a new flat?
Yes, with the right fixings. Concrete and blockwork hold a bracket well, but cables and pipes can run in the wall, and some blocks restrict drilling hours. We scan first and agree the cable route with you, and we tell you if a wall is plasterboard on studs and needs a different fixing.
Will you clear an end-of-tenancy list before the next tenant moves in?
Yes. Forward the inventory clerk's check-out report and the new tenant's start date. We price the list, finish it in one visit where possible, and photograph each item, which helps with deposit discussions. If the timetable is too tight, we tell you which items can be done in time.
Can you work on a stadium event day?
If your street is outside the event day zone, normally yes. Inside it, parking is restricted from 8am or 10am until midnight, so we either use a visitor event permit you hold or book another day. We check the Wembley event calendar when we confirm the booking.
