What affects the price?
How long the list takes, not how many items are on it. Five small jobs in one room is a shorter visit than three jobs spread across a house and a garden. Send the full list and we will tell you honestly whether it is a half day or a full day.
Certificates and defined jobs are a fixed price confirmed before we attend; repairs are charged by the hour, with the rate and an estimate confirmed before we attend.

What counts as a handyman job?
Flat-pack and furniture assembly, shelving and brackets, TV wall mounting, picture and mirror hanging, curtain poles and blinds, door easing, adjusting and rehanging, lock and handle changes, draught proofing, silicone and sealant renewal, minor tiling repairs, filling and touching up, smoke and carbon monoxide alarm fitting, and the general category of things that are quicker to do than to describe.
Buy it by the half day
A single small job carries the same travel and setup as five, so one job at an hourly rate is poor value. Write the list, send it over, and we will tell you whether it is a half day or a full day. Anything we cannot get through, we will tell you before we start rather than at four o'clock.
Which jobs need a qualified trade?
Some things that look like handyman jobs are not. Anything inside a consumer unit, any new electrical circuit, any work on a gas appliance, and anything structural needs the relevant trade and the relevant certificate. We will tell you which items on your list fall into that category. Electrical and plumbing items can usually go to our own trades on the same visit; a boiler fault goes to a Gas Safe registered engineer, because we do not service or repair boilers.
Landlords, voids and end of tenancy
The gap between tenancies is when a snagging list is cheapest to clear. Send us the check-out report and we will price the list, do it in one visit, and photograph the completed items so you have evidence for any deposit deduction. We can coordinate it with the EPC, EICR and gas check so the property is certified and repaired in the same window.
What we will not do
We will not quote for something we are not the right trade for, and we will not pad a list to fill a day. If your eleven jobs are really a three-hour visit, that is what we will charge you for.

Which mistakes do we see most often?
Booking a single small job at an hourly rate. The travel and setup cost the same whether we do one job or eight, so one job is poor value. Write the list. The other is assuming everything on the list is a handyman job; consumer unit work, new circuits and anything on a gas appliance need the relevant trade and certificate, and we would rather tell you that before we arrive.

Is there a minimum charge?
One hour minimum for a call-out, but for anything more than a single small task a half-day rate is better value. Send the list and we will tell you which applies.
Do you bring materials?
We carry consumables: fixings, sealant, filler, basic timber. Anything specific such as a particular tap, blind or lock, either supply it yourself or tell us and we will price it in.
Can you do a whole list in one visit?
That is the idea. Send the list in advance so we bring the right tools and can tell you realistically whether it is a half day or a full day.
Will you tell me if a job needs a proper trade?
Yes, and we would rather do that up front. Consumer unit work, new circuits, gas appliances and anything structural need the relevant qualification and certificate. Electrical and plumbing work we can usually do on the same visit with our own trades; we do not repair boilers or take on structural work, and we will say so.
Do you work Saturdays?
Yes, until 4.30pm. On Sundays we take emergency calls only.
What smoke and carbon monoxide alarms does a landlord need?
In England, at least one smoke alarm on every storey that has a room used as living accommodation, and a carbon monoxide alarm in any room used as living accommodation that contains a fixed combustion appliance, such as a boiler, gas fire or wood burner. Gas cookers are excluded. Alarms must be working on the first day of a new tenancy, and you must repair or replace one once you are told it is faulty. We fit both.
